Russia’s Vostochy Port says handles record 23 mln tns of coal 2016
VLADIVOSTOK, Dec 29 (PRIME) -- Russian stevedoring company Vostochny Port has set an Russian record by handling and transshipping 23 million tonnes for exports in 2016, up from 22.77 million tonnes the company handled in 2015, the company said in a statement Thursday.
“This figure has not been topped by any coal stevedore company of the country until now. Vostochny Port plans to increase the volume until the end of the year,” the company said.
Managing Director Anatoly Lazarev said as cited by the company that Vostochny Port plans to launch a third stage of a coal facility next year, which will allow it to increase the port’s cargo traffic significantly.
